Description
Lisa Zane and Rafael Vivanco are two musicians of enormous breadth and experience, who met in Chicago while performing at the city’s International Movies and Music Festival. Lisa, a renowned actress and international chanteuse had been performing her multi lingual music act in Los Angeles, New York, Paris and London since the late 90’s, while Rafael was playing classical guitar concerts and performing with South American and flamenco ensembles in the US, Canada and Peru.
They soon recognized in each other a common ground of repertoire, and by forging a collaboration as singer and guitarist, saw the opportunity to expand their musicality further. Their unique ability as a duo was well received by Chicago audiences who enjoyed being transported through time on a voyage from the Americas to Europe.
Their first record, Mysteries of Spain is a collection of songs from canonical composers such as Manuel De Falla, Joaquin Rodrigo, Erik Satie and others, and includes an original vocal arrangement to the traditional Peruvian marinera dance, La Concheperla, as well as first time original lyrics to iconic orchestral and instrumental compositions, written by Lisa in French and arranged by Rafael for guitar.
